areas of focus
-
I support clients in tending to the impact of long-term, repeated relational injuries. Together we work to understand emotional survival patterns, restore safety in the nervous system, and build relationships (both internal and external) that feel sturdy and safe.
-
I work with individuals who experience emotional intensity, shifting sense of self or identity, or relationship patterns that others may have labeled as a “personality disorder.” Together we look at how these patterns formed and what purpose they once served, while also working to undo the impact of any shame or fear that often comes with this kind of diagnosis.
-
As a trauma-focused therapist, I draw from evidence-based interventions to support relief of symptoms clients may experience due to a significant traumatic experience, working at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
-
I support individuals and couples in understanding their historical relational patterns. This may include how you protect yourself when you perceive an emotional threat, how you reach for connection, and what gets in the way.
-
I work with individuals to decode the internalized, often early-life narratives that may contribute to low self-worth. Through a combined attachment + cognitive lens, we collaboratively build a more grounded and compassionate self-view rooted in clarity, boundaries, and an authentic sense of identity.
-
I support couples in which partners may have differing neurotypes by helping deepen each person’s understanding of the other’s communication style, emotional rhythms, sensory needs, and unspoken expectations of the relationship, with the intention of reducing adversarial dynamics and strengthening a sense of teamwork and allyship.
-
I help families with children who are both gifted and have unique needs bridge communication gaps related to neurodiversity within the family system. In my work with 2e children, we focus on nervous system regulation, identity, emotional expression, and addressing any feelings of otherness that may illicit shame or discomfort.
-
I offer a shame-free, trauma-focused approach to substance use and process-based compulsive behaviors (eg, sex, love, gambling, food, technology, social media). This includes processing early dynamics that may have shaped these behaviors as once-effective coping strategies, redirecting toward healthier regulation techniques, and increasing connection to both self and community.
-
I support clients in identifying the internal roots of disconnection and emotional suppression that often surface as sadness or loss of interest. Therapy focuses on gently rebuilding hope and motivation while also addressing the relational, emotional, and systemic factors that contribute to depressive symptoms.
-
I work with individuals experiencing worry, panic, or chronic hypervigilance. In our sessions, we explore the relational roots of anxiety and the hyper-attunement to others’ emotional states, help the nervous system learn to soften, and build tools that support feeling more present, grounded, and capable.
